Margarita of the Month: January

Pear-Cilantro Margarita

Pear-Cilantro Margarita

I’m sure some of you Dedicated Readers thought I might let the first month of the year slip by without a new margarita recipe, but nope, not gonna let that happen! And just because this happens to be a Meatless Monday, it doesn’t have to be a Margaritaless Monday! So let’s get drinking!

Pear-Cilantro Margarita

2 oz  Reposado Tequila

2 oz  Pear Nectar

1 oz  Fresh Lime Juice

1/2 oz  Fresh Lemon Juice

1 oz  Simple Syrup

1 Tsp  Chopped Cilantro, plus sprig for garnish if desired

Chill your glassware of choice if desired.

Add all the ingredients (except garnish) to your cocktail shaker, throw in a bunch of ice and shake well (put the top on your shaker first of course!).

Strain into your glass, garnish, and bottoms up!

This is another good one (am I beginning to sound like Steve Harvey when he’s introducing the Family Feud?)! If you’re a cilantro fan, I’d try doubling up on the herb… and I’m thinking this also would be one to add some heat to… maybe see see that one someday…

The basic recipe comes from the Food & Wine Cocktails app (which has plenty of drink recipes and some pretty pics of same to entice you) – not sure if it’s still available, but if you find it it’s worth the download.

Back to the kitchen, and the bar! See you soon!

I already like your past cilantro recipe. (Which I’ve tried now with Jalapeño, Cerrano, and Habenaro peppers) Now I need to try this. Hopefully I can find Pear Nector…
